Case Size and Physical Fit

A width is not a complete fit specification. Longines lists the Evidenza's case dimensions separately from lug-to-lug length, thickness and 18 mm attachment width. That distinction is useful even when comparing watches that look similar in a photograph. Longines Evidenza specifications.

Fixed footprints, mechanism-specific depth

The following are original Atelier catalogue envelopes, excluding projecting lugs, crowns and buttons. They are not measurements attributed to the reference watches. Width and body height are fixed; the third number is the maximum thickness, not necessarily your watch's actual depth. A domed crystal adds an external rise, not extra movement space.

Compact describes the thinner, shorter electronic package here; it does not mean every dimension is smaller than Rectangle standard.

The Atelier shows the actual assembled depth for your selected mechanism, hand styles and controls. For example, Blue hour's Round SW200 is 9.5 mm, Ledger's Rectangle quartz is 7.8 mm, Signal's Square ETA2824 is 9.5 mm, and Index LCD's compact Rectangle is 7.4 mm. Actual chronograph mechanisms retain their larger shell depth, even when their chronograph display is hidden; rugged cases retain their protective depth.

The complete movement, dial, hands, crystal, back and control clearances determine the depth. Our original assembly allowance adds 0.40 mm where the selected envelope permits it, rounded upward to 0.10 mm; fixed lugs and guarded controls can require more room. This allowance is not a manufacturer's specification. The back and strap attachments stay in place while the front and whole mechanism move together. Movements, hands and screens are never compressed to make a case look thin.

In the atelier

Analog designs use the eight standard sizes plus the two larger Round variants. Classic LCD uses the eight standards and Rectangle compact; Retro LED uses the eight standards; Rugged LCD uses only the two rugged variants. Those are module choices, not promises that every strap or inscription fits every combination.

Named mechanical bodies retain their source-sized diameter and published height reservation. A shaped holder supports the movement within the case; the illustrated bridges and wheels are not exact maker CAD. The ETA 6498's 36.60 mm diameter needs Round large in this catalogue. Its size is not reduced to keep a narrow case selectable. ETA 6498 dimensions.

The fit check also includes the complete hand sweep, calendar, text, screen corners, side controls and strap attachment. It rejects incompatible choices instead of shrinking a calibre, stretching a screen or enlarging the selected catalogue envelope. Choose another explicit size or component. Physical clearances improve the design study; they do not certify real parts interchangeability, sealing, strength or comfort on your wrist.
